Composite Materials Lay-up

Prepping the mold is how the process begins. Then a high gloss gel-coat is applied followed by the skin-coat. The skin-coat is a layer of chopped fiberglass with resin thats applied by hand rolling the fiberglass to eliminate air pockets and form a permanent bond with the gel-coat. The process eliminates air pockets and plays a key role in the overall quality of the hull.

A hand lamination process begins with a combination of woven roving and tri-directional fiberglass. Each hull has a hand laid fiberglass stringer system for a solid and rigid hull. The flotation is a closed cell foam which is injected into the stringer and hull leaving no void areas. Pre-casted High-Density foam block are used as the structure of the deck and hull.

The deck and hull are joined together with fiberglass and resin, forming a solid singular unit.
